Dana's Story

Life * Married to the former Billie Holland since May 30, 1969. * We have two daughters, Amy Goodin and Melissa Brady, who have given us four fantastic grandchildren, Ross Wayne "BO" Goodin III, Raegan Elisabeth Brady, Lucas Brady and Jake Allen Goodin. * Amy is a Physician Assistant and Melissa is an Attorney. They are both married to USAF/Air Guard Full-Time Pilots. * We have lived in Meridian, Mississippi since 1989 and will most likely be here forever. * Earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. * Earned a Ph.D. in Management and a Master of Business Administration. * Earned a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Atmospheric Physics. * Possessed a TOP SECRET SCI DCID 1/14 (6/4) security clearance when I retired in 2001. * Doctoral dissertation was on Total Quality Management and I am familiar with all types of ISO, Industrial, Safety, Educational, Technical, Production and Quality standards. * As the Commander of both the 111th Communications Electronics Maintenance Squadron (135 personnel) at Willow Grove NAS, PA and the 109th Mission Support Flight (50 personnel) at Schenectady ANGB, NY, I managed the personnel, administration, telecommunications, message processing center, audio-visual, computer and information processing center, high tech systems maintenance, and computer networking systems for the entire Air Guard Base. Included direct supervision of about 24 Electronics Technicians. * As the Detachment Commander of the 238th Combat Communications Squadron (212 personnel) in Meridian, MS, I was responsible for the efficient operation of all functions in the unit...personnel, equipment, training, materiel, environmental, etc. Included direct supervision of nearly 80 Electronics Mechanics. * Served as Chief of Quality Control at the Pepsi Cola Plant in Altoona, PA including product testing, SPC of production, water quality, warehouse operations, plant hygiene/safety, and new employee training. * Distinguished Graduate of Advanced Communications-Computer Systems Officer Training, hold the Master Communications-Computer Systems Officer rating, and am a qualified Communications Security Manager. * As the Officer-in-Charge of Computer Operations, the Senior Systems Duty Officer, and a Senior Programmer/ Systems Analyst at USAF Global Weather Central, I managed one of the largest communications and computer centers in the country. Directly managed 100+ persons, indirect coordination with nearly 300 programmers/systems analysts. * Served as an Instructor of Computer Science and Economics at Meridian Community College for 7years. * Taught High School Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Science. * Developed educational curricula and conducted workflow and production studies for several organizations. * Served as an Adjunct Instructor for the Air National Guard Quality Center. * Served as a Technical Instructor and Curriculum Developer for the U.S.A.F.
